Colourful Hell

Colourful Hell is a Doom mod created by Hege Cactus that adds a huge number of randomized monster variants and ranks them by their colors, something that is quite common in MMOs. The higher up the color scale a monster is, the rarer and more powerful it will be.
The colors go from the regular palette (common) to white (more difficult) and this can mean variations on health, attack power and type, speed, behavior, visual, drops etc.

Since it’s a randomizer, Colourful Hell, besides varying the matches, can make them way more harder as well. It also is interesting to be played along with weapons packs like Flakes Doom, Combined Arms or Mechatron.

It is also worth mentioning that, except in the case you start right on the first map in front of a black or white monster (who have boss level health and other complications), Colourful Hell seems a bit more balanced than some randomizer mods such as Complex Doom and others. I also found it quite amusing as it increases the difficulty and adds more replay value to the game. Also, combining hard WADs with weapons packs is always cool.

The above showcases Colourful Hell being played with Mechatron and then with Flakes Doom and the Gambiarra add-on.

This other video shows Colourful Hell combined with Trailblazer. These two match very well.

Compatibility

I tested the PWAD on GZDoom 2.4 and 3.2, with the IWADs from Doom II: Hell on Earth, The Ultimate Doom, Final Doom and from both Freedoom’s phases. The mod seems to work just fine with all that.

Mods that have their own monsters may not work as they should with Colourful Hell, but I don't see why weapons packages would have problems with it. In addition to Mechatron and Flakes Doom, this PWAD, should also work, according to Hege Cactus, with LegenDoom, Trailblazer, DRLA (weapons only), Russian Overkill, Psychic, Guncaster (with patch), Combined Arms (I tested and it's great) and Lethal Doom.
