Linear Doom

Linear Doom is a joke WAD created by DeXiaZ that transforms the missions from the three episodes of the classic id software’s first person shooter into completely straight levels.
The maps keep the same aspect of the originals, but are obviously way simpler. Besides having fewer monsters, they don’t have any secrets, puzzles or labyrinths, which mean they can be finished much faster than the usual. The PWAD also features different versions of the default levels' background music.

Despite being a joke WAD, Linear Doom is not something intended just to piss people off or to be featured at Aquarius199's Crappy Doom Wads. It can be perfectly played for real, being even quite challenging in some parts or if combined with other WADs, as I said earlier. And it's is quite compatible.

Videos

The above video is our Linear Doom showcase. It was made in our traditional style.

This other video, by its turn, features Linear Doom being combined with Quake Champions: Doom Edition v2.1 in its first episode.

Compatibility

I ran the mod here on GZDoom (1.8.2, 2.4.0 and 3.7.2), ZDoom 2.8.1 and Zandronum (2.0 and 3.0), with the IWADs from The Ultimate Doom and Freedoom’s phase 1. The author guarantees that it works in any port that supports DECORATE and MAPINFO.
